College Algebra
This is a (one semester) dual credit class offered jointly through Center-Stanton High School and Bismarck State College. Students may choose the high school credit only option or the dual credit option. Students who choose the high school credit only option are able to earn 1/2 high school credit. Students who choose the dual credit option are able to earn 1/2 high school credit and 4 college credits. Seniors and Juniors may enroll in this class upon the successful completion of Algebra I and Algebra II (Geometry is also recommended). The most current BSC tutition and enrollment fees will also apply for the dual credit class. In addition, if dual credit is desired, the following BSC requirement must be met prior to enrolling in class (starting with fall 2011 semester): Math ACT score of (*19 or 20*) or Compass score of (*51-60 or better* in the Algebra domain), or score within the College Algebra domain on the compass test. The Compass test is a placement test that is taken on the BSC campus for a small fee. It can be used for admittance into the class when the ACT score falls below the required level.
**These scores will be set at a higher level starting with the fall 2012 semester. Contact the CSHS principal for the current and most up to date placement score requirements.
