       What is Title 1?

                 It is the largest federal aid program for our nation's school.   The goal of Title 1 is a high-quality education for every child.   The program provides extra help to students who need it the most.   These students are the furthest from meeting the standards the state has set for all children.  Title 1 Programs serve millions of students in elementary and secondary school each year.  

Title 1 offers:

• one-on-one or small group activities for working on needed skills

• a variety of supplementary teaching methods and materials to supplement students' regular instruction

• an individualized program for students
